Not a great week for Georgia Bulldogs fans, with the super media hype after the opening win over Clemson turning negative. Even Rolling Stone, which normally doesn’t cover sports, jumped on the pile, declaring Mark Richt the Charlie Brown of college football! So, let’s open this week’s fan talk on a couple of positive notes: Georgia plays football again Saturday in Athens (noon kickoff against the Trojans from, where else, Troy) and someone thinks UGA has the best home uniforms.

An off year in 2013 with a disappointing 8-5 record doesn’t seem to have dampened demand for UGA football season tickets.
Maybe it’s because the economy is in better shape, but the athletic association reported Tuesday that the Hartman Fund/Bulldog Club cumulative priority point cutoff score for 2014 is actually up from last year, when any contributor giving the $250 minimum donation per seat got tickets. This year, that’s not the case. Hartman Fund contributors requesting additional/new pairs of renewable season tickets with a cumulative score less than 1,001 won’t get them. The other day a Bulldogs fan asked me to look into my crystal ball a bit and predict whether potential Heisman Trophy candidate Todd Gurley will go down in the annals of UGA football as one of the program’s greatest backs.
My answer was that, if he is 100 percent healthy this season and remains that way, he certainly would at least merit being in the conversation.
