“Are you ready for the new season?”
“Dawgs gonna do it against Clemson?’
Those are the typical greetings I’ve been getting around the office the past week or so, and the answsers are:
“Definitely” and “I think so.”
I hedge on the second because, like all Georgia fans, I’m wondering just how much better a largely inexperienced Bulldogs secondary will be with Jeremy Pruitt, late of national champion FSU, at the helm in place of the departed Todd Grantham.

By all accounts, Georgia’s Todd Gurley, a Heisman Trophy candidate considered by many to be the best college running back in the country, is fully healthy, in the best shape of his career and rarin’ to go, carrying a full load against the Clemson Tigers.
Assuming his coaches let him stay on the field, that is.
While I understand the fascination on the part of both fans and coaches with highly touted freshmen Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, I’m a bit concerned about all this talk about playing all five tailbacks against Clemson.

The other day a Bulldogs fan asked me to look into my crystal ball a bit and predict whether potential Heisman Trophy candidate Todd Gurley will go down in the annals of UGA football as one of the program’s greatest backs.
My answer was that, if he is 100 percent healthy this season and remains that way, he certainly would at least merit being in the conversation.
